Dr. Katy Correa

For nearly 20 years, Dr. Correa has been a practicing dentist near Minooka. Growing up in a family of doctors, she is pleased to carry on the tradition, providing essential and compassionate care to individuals looking to achieve better oral and overall health.

Earning her master’s in comprehensive dentistry at Benemerita Universidad Autónoma de Puebla, she practiced for seven years in Mexico before moving to the United States. Completing the Advanced Standing Program for Foreign Trained Doctors at the University of Illinois at Chicago, she finished top of her class and was inducted into the National Dental Honor Society, Omicron Kappa Upsilon.

Dr. Correa remains active in multiple professional organizations, eager to remain abreast of the latest changes and advancements in dental technology and techniques, including the American Dental Association, the Illinois State Dental Society, and the Academy of General Dentistry.

Outside the office, she spends much of her time with her husband, Luis, and their two cats. Her love for animals extends to her support of local and international animal rescue organizations. She also enjoys playing volleyball and reading a good book.

Dr. Veronica Resek

Dr. Resek joined the Grand Dental – Channahon team in 2021 and is a native of the great state of Illinois. Believing every patient deserves the best from their dentist and dental experience, she goes out of her way to make sure everything is relaxing and fun from beginning to end.

Interested in science from a young age, it wasn’t until she received braces that she became intrigued by dentistry. During her college years, she volunteered at a non-profit clinic and organized a mission trip to West Africa to volunteer with a dentist in Ghana.

Dr. Resek attended the Southern Illinois University School of Dental Medicine, graduating magna cum laude and being nominated by her professors to the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Dental Honors Society.

She regularly pursues continuing education to stay updated on the changes happening in the field of dentistry, and she is certified in Invisalign, Zoom! Whitening, and BLS. She’s also heavily involved with multiple professional organizations.

When she’s not busy in the office, though, you’ll find her with her husband, Eric, and their son, Hayden. They have two cats and enjoy cheering on the Chicago sports teams, traveling, and serving communities in need through various mission trips.

Dr. Seokjae Son

A passion for helping others and being able to use his hands to express his creativity is what led Dr. Son to pursue dentistry.

Growing up, he remembers his grandfather wearing dentures because of tooth loss that occurred as a result of injuries he sustained during the Korean War. Believing he would one day restore his smile, which he did, he became passionate about becoming a dentist near Minooka.

After earning his undergraduate degree from North Carolina State University, he attended the University of Pittsburgh to achieve his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree. Dr. Son continues to pursue more than 20 hours of postdoctoral studies each year in areas such as dental implants, cosmetic restorations, endodontic treatment, surgical extraction, clear aligners, and more. He is also actively involved in the Seattle Study Club.

When he’s not in the office, Dr. Son enjoys spending time with his wife (also a dentist) and their twins, a boy and a girl. They often go on bike rides and watch movies together.

Dr. Bruce Abdullah

As a periodontist near Minooka, Dr. Abdullah knew he always wanted to do something that required him to work with his hands and solve problems.

After earning his dental doctorate at the Loyola University School of Dentistry, he earned a master and specialty certificate in periodontology from Tufts University. Today, he is board certified and a Diplomate of the American Academy of Periodontology.

For more than 25 years, he has taught in the department of postgraduate periodontology at the University of Illinois School of Dentistry and is a member of various professional organizations.

When he’s not rebuilding smiles, you’ll find him spending time with his spouse and their two daughters. He also enjoys golf and coaches his daughters in the sport.

Dr. Kevin Chen

For more than two decades, Dr. Chen has been creating beautiful smiles through orthodontic treatment. His desire to enter the field of dentistry started because of the joy in found when working with his hands. When it came time to choose a career, he discovered what kind of difference he could make in improving patients’ lives by becoming a dentist near Minooka.

Starting his college career in China, he graduated from the West China University of Medical Sciences before moving to the United States and earning his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree at the University of Illinois at Chicago.

He also completed a five-year residency training in orthodontics and is actively involved in numerous professional organizations, including the American Dental Association, the Illinois State Dental Society, the Academy of General Dentistry, and the American Academy of Implant Dentistry.

Outside the office, he and his wife, Joy, spend much of their time with their two sons, Ben and Jason, as well as hiking, fishing, or reading good books.
